This was a very common view when I was in Tokyo this last April. Truly a 48hr trip to remember. What I’ve told many people is that because of the lack of language skills (or training) for Japanese, I was blind, deaf, and mute the whole time there. Surely a crash course in cultural learning and a reversal of roles of what our parents went through.
